From the town of Seventeen Seventy and Agnes Water the sparkling crystal clear waters of the Southern Great Barrier Reef beckon. Swim, snorkel or dive with accredited instructors in the protected coral cay and lagoons and be wowed by the tropical fish, dolphins, turtles, manta rays, whales (July-November) and vividly colourful coral.

Day cruises to the Southern Great Barrier Reef operate daily from the Seventeen Seventy Marina.Lady Musgrave Island has a reputation for fantastic diving and snorkelling, with a multitude of tropical fish, and hard and soft corals. A vast turquoise lagoon, white sandy beaches and native forests complete the picture. Fitzroy Reef Lagoon, a stunning coral lagoon in the middle of the reef, lies amongst a smattering of small islands to the north of Lady Musgrave Island.
